The Process
The typical ForDyn animation begins
as a concept by the client, where specific elements have been identified
as the focus of the animation. ForDyn personnel will work with the client
to determine the most appropriate and cost-effective solution to presenting
the desired information. During the animation development phase, storyboards
and test animations are sent to the client (usually via internet mail or
ftp) to ensure the client's awareness of the animation progress and formation.
If the animation involves scientific
data, ForDyn has the capability of processing nearly all PC and UNIX workstation-based
ASCII and binary files. ForDyn can also develop custom software to read
and process analysis data from user-written software packages.
Output
for the Client
ForDyn can provide the resultant
animation(s) in a variety of formats. Typically, the client will request
the animations to be provided on VHS video tape for easy playback. For
greater color clarity, S-VHS video tape format can also be provided. For
the greatest clairity, ForDyn can provide the generated animations in digital
format (BETA-SP), which is often useful for non-linear editing or signal
loss-free duplication onto VHS video tape.
In addition to the various video
tape formats, ForDyn can also generate AVI, MPEG, QuickTime, and FLC computer
animation files. These formats are often used for integration into Microsoft
PowerPoint presentations and on-the-fly computer playbacks for customers.
Complete
Multimedia Presentation
In addition to creating high-quality
animations, ForDyn can also produce dynamic video presentations for customer
reviews, educational demos, and conference presentations. ForDyn's
post-production software allows for the integration of computer generated
animations, live video, titles, company logos, scene transitions, music
and narration to give the customer a unique and dynamic presentation tool.
Scientific
Visualization
ForDyn has developed custom software
for reading and animating engineering analysis results for the following
computer programs:
|
MSC/DYTRAN
|
Articulated
Total Body (ATB) Model
|
|
DYNA2D
/ DYNA3D
|
NIKE2D
/ NIKE3D
|
ForDyn does have the capability
of processing other analysis results if given the format of the data within
the results file. Displacement and element results can be animated on a
light-source shaded and/or contour results shaded FEA model.
Video Compositing
ForDyn can integrate video or photograph
images with animated objects to produce very realistic video presentations.
This is often done for accident reconstruction animations where it is imperative
to have accurate and realistic background settings.
CD-ROM
Demo/Training Development
ForDyn has the ability to create
CD-ROMs for PC and Macintoshes for custom demonstration and training purposes.
The CD-ROM application can contain generated and/or live video animations
with both music and sound to create a user-friendly, interactive tool for
presenting specific information.
ForDyn uses the latest authoring
software packages to accomodate most personal computer platforms.
